Magnet Magic: How They Conserve and Advertise

Posted on 05/23/14 in Magnets
Although not many people purposefully seek to harm or negatively impact the environment, most manage to do it unconsciously and accidently through innocent ignorance. Growing a basic awareness of the ways in which individuals can preserve resources and minimize waste can make a significant difference for the environment.

Magnets are a great way to disseminate information while eliminating waste and the production costs of paper, which will inevitably be destroyed in some manner. Furthermore, magnets are incredibly useful for keeping pictures, postcards, and other keepsakes on the refrigerator or any other metal surface.

Here are a few popular ways that promotional magnets have been used:

  • Restaurant menus: Instead of adding a paper menu to a bag of food, send a magnet. This allows customers to have a constant reminder of the food options available without searching for a website and an online menu.
  • Magnetic business cards: Useful for insurance companies, restaurants, law offices, and just about any other business available, a magnetic business card that can be stuck to a refrigerator is far more durable and easier to locate than a paper card.
  • Magnetic brochures: Obviously these would not be the full size of a paper brochure, but they allow companies to get a reasonable amount of information about their business to the customer. Using magnetic brochures makes it less likely that the information will be thrown away or lost.
  • Save the dates: Many couples announcing their wedding to their friends will send a magnetic save the date. This ensures durability and increases the likelihood that the date will be remembered, because it will be in a visible place. A paper save the date can all too easily be placed in a stack of papers and thrown away, leading to frantic searches as the halfway remembered date of the wedding approaches.
  • Chip clips: Chip clips are not normally used as purveyors of information, but the small binder clips are always useful and are often lost. If they are magnetic, they can be easier to track down, and they can keep other important documents accessible as well.
  • Magnetic recipes: For a restaurant or food service company of any kind, a great promotional idea might be a magnetic recipe. This allows customers to try one of the restaurant's dishes in the privacy of their own home, and it can convince them to visit the restaurant to try other items on the menu.
